30,000 CFM Walk In Plenum Baghouse - Insulated

30,000 CFM, Model SPJ -256-4T10 Walk In Plenum Baghouse. Fully insulated with hopper heaters installed. The dust collector was manufactured for a Rotary Dryer application handling Fly Ash at 270°F maximum temperature. Other special features include Ryton Filters, copper tubing, Goyen valves and solenoids, high temperature paint inside and outside the collector, and high temperature gasketing.


  • Application: Foundry/Silica Air Volume: 32,000 CFM with HEPA Air to Cloth: 8:1 A casting foundry needed a new dust collector for their shake out sand mold line. They opted for a Scientific Dust Collector Dual System with walk-in plenums. The walk-in plenums allows for easy access to all filters, both bag and HEPA, from the clean air side. Additionally they are returning the clean air into the plant with allows them to save money heating and cooling the plant. The HEPA filters eliminate any concerns of ingesting silica from the shakeout process.
  • Application: Forging/Shot Blast Air Volume: 10,000 CFM Air to Cloth: 6.1:1 When this large forging company contacted Scientific Dust Collectors, they had been experiencing environmental emissions issues with their existing dust collector as well as excessive bag replacement. As space was an issue, and the collector had to be installed indoors, we were able to utilize our rail top baghouse with pleated bag media to give us the correct amount of filter area for the application. Since this dust has some traces of oil, we used an oleophobic treatment on the bag, and PreCoat to help stabilize the pressure drop. To further keep this facility safe, we incorporated our system with the appropriate NFPA compliant combustible dust equipment: Flameless Explosion Vent, No Return Valve, and compliant Rotary Airlock. The customer now enjoys a cleaner, safer and healthier work environment with extended wear on the filter media. They are also in compliance for the September 7, 2020 deadline for performing a DHA (Dust Hazard Analysis).
  • Application: Zinc Galvanizing Air Volume: 55,000 CFM Air to Cloth: 7:1 A major hot dip zinc galvanizing company with locations throughout the US has seen its share of problems with “generic dust collectors”. Problems include short filter life, corrosion of the dust collector’s interior, and a need for continuous precoating of the filter media. The answer to these problems was a Scientific Dust Collector. SDC’s baghouses provide extended filter life, no continuous precoating and meet all EPA emission standards.   • SCIENTIFIC DUST COLLECTORS® ASHRAE STANDARD 199 TESTING SUMMARY ________________________________________ Scientific Dust Collectors (SDC) designed and built a complete test lab per Standard 199 specifications. SDC successfully completed testing of all six (6) required testing stages as per the Standard. SDC built a baghouse using our standard design at a 10.6:1 air to cloth ratio. This ratio is CFM airflow divided by square feet of media. During the “upset condition” stage, when the cleaning is turned off, SDC cleaned from 10.0”wg all the way down to 0.74”wg. This upset condition simulates if no compressed air is available. SDC’s cleaning system recovered. Performance summary information determined that, at SDC’s air to cloth ratio, SDC achieved an average differential pressure of only 1.54”wg. Performance summary information determined that at SDC’s air to cloth ratio, utilizing its PATENTED Nozzle Cleaning Technology, SDC achieved superior emissions efficiency of 0.00053gr/Ft³ (1.214 mg/M³) at PM2.5. SDC achieved an overall collection efficiency of 99.97%. Laboratory and ASHRAE 199:2016 testing protocol have been audited and certified by Blue Heaven Technologies in September 2020.

The SL-Series Horizontal Cartridge collector is a heavy duty reverse pulse-jet collector that is suited for industrial powders and submicron dust applications. These units operate with a downward airflow and incorporate our patented nozzle based cleaning technology, internal air baffle, and special attention to the internal air flow velocities and patterns. The SL-Series cartridges are sealed and held in place by a patented spring-loaded door and reinforced three rod support cage. This patented door assembly makes cartridges changes quick and easy, insures proper cartridge tensions, and insures a positive seal. LP Series Vertical Cartridge Dust Collector

The LP-Series* Cartridge Collector is an economical, low pressure, Vertical Cartridge collector with all the quality design features you have come to expect from SDC. The unit is fully welded, and includes SDC’s Patented nozzle based cleaning technology. Cartridges are secured without the need of tools via a simple spring loaded handle to assure proper sealing.
